Let’s do it again!

more time together

Among the many great ideas from our successful moreEC campaign, more time together is one that is really central to the vision and function of the EC. The reason we bought and renovated this beautiful place is so that we could meet, as friends and colleagues, as students and teachers, from all around the world.

So in the program this year, although we’ve managed to include an amazing series of teachings, meditations, and events, we have left plenty of space to be together, especially on the last weekend.

Each year we are fortunate enough to have a Phowa course with Lama Ole Nydahl, one of the greatest masters of this practice. This year we are even luckier than usual – we will have a full seven day-long Phowa course!

When the Phowa course is finished, there will be a common buffet reception on the Sunday evening. We will eat together and afterwards we can watch presentations from the whole world in the dining tent in a family-like atmosphere.

Being a part of H.H. the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa’s European tour, we are happy and honored to spend seven days with Karmapa in one place – our very own Europe Center. Gyalwa Karmapa and Lama Ole Nydahl will give teachings on guru yoga and about different Kagyu masters.

We will also have something quite unique: a twelve-hour meditation on the 16th Karmapa guided by the 17th Karmapa himself.

Our noble lineage could be said to start with the hero Marpa the Translator, a lay person and family man, who brought the Kagyu transmissions to Tibet, travelling on foot through the Himalayas to India. Rechungpa was a yogi student of Milarepa, held many important transmissions, and was a teacher of the first Karmapa.

To finish the course, Gyalwa Karmapa will give empowerments into the great Kagyu masters Rechungpa and Marpa.

Let’s enjoy this great time together.

Yours, the EC Summer Course Team
