CATERING

We will provide food three times a day for everybody at the Europe Center. All meals are included in the course price. Our cooks aim to bring you wonderful food from all our sanghas around the world, using plates and cutlery provided by the course (please do not bring your own as you will not be able to use them). There will also be an onsite shop where you can buy a variety of goods.

AUTOMATIC DISHWASHER

For the best hygienic results, we will have a high-temperature automatic dishwasher this year. Benefit #1: you don’t have to wash your dishes after every meal! Benefit #2: You don’t have to bring your own dishes! What this means: the machine will only accept standard dishes and cutlery, so please leave yours at home and enjoy the service!

HELP

During the course, everything from cooking lunch to decorating the gompa is undertaken with joyful effort by full-time volunteer teams, supported by hundreds of part-time helpers. If you have the surplus to volunteer and spend an hour or two to really become part of the course, see the friendly folks in the Job Center, by the Cafeteria.

CHILDCARE

For children above the age of 2, we offer a childcare program during the morning- and afternoon-sessions. There is no official childcare program in the evenings, but parents will be supported in organizing movie nights themselves. During Karmapa’s teachings there is a more limited childcare offer and during the initiation sessions there is no official childcare program, but a possibility for a children’s cinema.

Since we will have childcare for children aged 2-4 this year for the first time, we will add support from professional childkeepers. A donation from all parents to cover part of the costs is very much appreciated.

We will also have our approved system of parent-helpers again and looking forward to another great Summer Course with you!

TRANSLATIONS

The entire course (including Phowa) will be given in English. Translation into several European languages will be provided. It will be possible to borrow FM radios onsite. However, we highly recommend that you bring own digital FM radio; it will be more comfortable for you and easier for us.

PARKING AND SHUTTLE SERVICE

You can only reach our beautiful EC via the shuttle service. Private cars or buses cannot drive up the hill. There is an official course car park “Viehmarktpatz P3”, for cars and buses. From this car park – located in Immenstadt – a continuous shuttle service will bring you and your luggage directly to the course.
The price for the shuttle is €1 per trip.

ARRIVING BY TRAIN

From the train station it is a short walk to the P3 car park, where the shuttle will take you to the EC. So it’s easy and convenient to come via train to Immenstadt. We also have a special offer from Deutsche Bahn.
