AUGUST 2nd – 7th: CONSCIOUS DYING COURSE
The practice of Conscious Dying (Tib. Phowa) enables us both to master the dying process for ourselves and to actively help others when they pass away, leading all to a state of great bliss. In the process of dying, this meditation will help us to enter the pure land of the Buddha of Limitless Light.
During the five days of meditation, Lama Ole Nydahl will give teachings on death, the intermediate state (Tib. bardo), and rebirth.
The course will start in the evening of August 2nd and last until August 7th.
PREPARATION FOR THE COURSE
If you are coming to the Conscious Dying course for the first time, you need to prepare by meditating on the Buddha of Limitless Light, while repeating the mantra OM AMI DEWA HRI. Please learn the meditation at your nearest Diamond Way Buddhist Centre and complete 100,000 mantras before the course. You are also required to remain for the entire Conscious Dying course (until Sunday evening). To do the Conscious Dying meditation, Buddhist refuge is necessary. Lama Ole Nydahl will give refuge at the beginning of the course.
AUGUST 7th – 10th: RIDING THE TIGER II – TRANSMISSION DAYS AND PUBLIC LECTURE BY LAMA OLE
This time the focus is on the development of Diamond Way Buddhism after the times described in Lama Ole’s book Riding the Tiger. Lama Ole, together with his close team of Caty Hartung and Tomek Lehnert, who have been traveling with him for the last twenty years, will share their view on the development of Diamond Way Buddhism in the West. The collected material will then be used for the new book, which continues the story of Riding the Tiger.
AUGUST 10th: PUBLIC LECTURE
In the evening of August 10th, Lama Ole Nydahl will give a public lecture in German, starting at 20:00.
AUGUST 11th: MEDITATION ON LOVING EYES WITH SHERAB GYALTSEN RINPOCHE AND LAMA OLE
We have the great opportunity to meditate on the Buddha of Compassion for a whole day along with Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche, who has accumulated one billion repetitions of the mantra of Loving Eyes (earning the title Maniwa), and with Lama Ole.
AUGUST 12th – 14th: LONG LIFE INITIATIONS AND TEACHINGS BY SHERAB GYALTSEN RINPOCHE
This year Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche finishes off the course by giving a special set of long life initiations, including teachings on this topic. It is highly recommend to take the full set of all three initiations.
